Is Lexapro a Drug of Choice for Whiplash Injuries?

Shortly after the auto accident and meanwhile being treated for whiplash, loss of curve in neck, bulging disk in back, lower back problems, headaches, you name it, I began to notice numbness and was referred for treatment with a neurologist. This doctor recommended I take Lexapro; a antidepressant none the less.

When asking the side-effects there were nearly a dozen and this is just the ones I could remember. And just off the top of my head, no punt intended, but if a patient is complaining of headaches, why would you prescribe a medication, which firsts side-effect is headaches? Just a thought.

Headaches
Nausea
Extreme tiredness
Insomnia
Dry mouth
Fatigue
Increased sweating
Diarrhea
A decreased sex drive
Constipation
Dizziness

  1. Normally the auto insurance will pay for the mdcaeil treatment within the first two years of the accident, since this is the normal time period within which one can file a suit or a claim for injury and mdcaeil treatment. However, this would again depend upon the prevailing legal time-period for filling a claim or suit with the insurance company ie. against the insurance company of the car with whom you collided. The time period of placing the claim with your own insurance company also differs as per the prevailing state norms.Take the help of your state insurance department regulatory authority on this
